Dr. Sara Swift grew up in Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition. While earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from UW, she found herself drawn to complicated aspects of women's health such as high-risk pregnancies, infertility, and endometriosis.

One of our fertility specialists, Dr. Swift completed her residency in Iowa and is board-certified. In addition, she has met further criteria to qualify as a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and performs many procedures robotically.

Dedicated to improving all aspects of patient care, Dr. Swift firmly believes that the doctor/patient relationship is a partnership where patients' specific needs, values, and goals should drive all health and clinical decisions.

"The Circle of Care means caring for women from their teenage years to their menopausal years, but it's also caring for a woman as a whole — physically, mentally, emotionally."

"Following my routine 24-week appointment with Dr. Swift, I began noticing my belly feeling increasingly firm and was sent back to the hospital for triage. I was put on the monitor at 12:04pm and Colton's heart rate was in the 130's-150's for 3 minutes before I became diaphoretic and pale. I was experiencing an abruption and his heart rate had dropped into the 60's. Dr. Swift was called to the bedside at 12:10pm, STAT c-section called at 12:14pm, and my baby delivered alive at 12:20pm. As much as my broken heart wishes I could say that Colton survived long enough to make up for Dr. Swift's broken ankle from running to my room so fast, I can say that thanks to such an incredible doctor, I was able to spend 10 amazing days with my little blond miracle. From fertility support, miscarriage, delivery, postpartum, and now fetal loss, Dr. Swift has always been there in every way that I've needed her."

“There's wasn't really a reason to expect a miscarriage to happen. I wasn't high risk. I had no underlying conditions. I was 29 at the time; I was a fit, healthy person, so it left my husband and me heartbroken and dumbfounded. But Dr. Swift had a game plan. ‘Here’s what we're going to do for when you get pregnant the next time, just to make sure that we've ruled out everything that we can control on our end.’ Dr. Swift wanted to make sure that we covered all of our bases so that my husband and I could have our family. She cares so much for her patients.”

"With my first baby, I had some doctor changes, due to my previous doctor being injured. I was supposed to meet Dr. Swift before my induction date, but our baby had different plans and came a little early. The nurses called Swift when I was in labor and she agreed to come and deliver. I met her for the first time as I was delivering. Swift was sweet, kind, and ready to help me deliver my first baby. Fun fact: my nurse's name was Taylor!!"

“I waited in life to get married and have kids, and then you have complications, and you think you’re never going to have a baby. I remember after my second miscarriage Dr. Swift sat down with me, looked me right in the eyes, and said, ‘What do you want to do? And where do you want to go from here?’ I told her everything I wanted, and now I’ve got this beautiful little two-year-old.”

"She delivered all 4 of my babies. I followed her everywhere she went. I wouldn’t choose anyone but her."
