For Mom and Labor
- Your childbirth handbook provided by your doctor or other books on labor and delivery and breastfeeding
- Robe and slippers
- Favorite music with portable player
- Lotion or oil for massage
- Vibrating massager
- Sugarless lollipops or hard candy to help keep your mouth moist (sugarless candies may not make you as thirsty as sugared candies)
- Toiletries including lip balm, toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, hair brush, hair tie and accessories, and makeup
- Deck of cards, magazines, and/or books
- Nutritious snacks for partner
- Contact lens case, contact solution, and eyeglasses
- Warm socks
- List of phone numbers and people to notify of the birth (including your childbirth educator)
- Change for vending machine
- Paper and pencil
- Camera and/or video recorder with extra batteries
- Your own pillow or blanket from home (if that makes you more comfortable)
- Focal point (if desired)
- Nursing bras and pads
- Sleepwear, nursing gowns and underwear
- Clothes for going home
