| First Appointment- 8-10 weeks pregnancy | You will receive a personal and family history form to complete prior to your visit. The information wil be reviewed with you during your appointment. Your doctor will perform a physical exam similar to the annual gyn physical. A routine blood and urine test will be done |
| | You will have an ultrasound to see embryo development and verify your due date. |
| | A nurse will talk about what to expect as your pregnancy progresses, answer questions you may have, and give you information to read. |
| OB checks- Monthly after first appointment to 32 weeks to include: | Your weight, blood pressure and "dips" (urine samples to check protein and glucose levels) are done at each visit. |
| | The baby's organs will be evaluated along with size and development. If possible, and with your permission, the sex of your baby may be identified. |
| | You'll drink a sugar solution 1 hour prior to your appointment. Your blood will be drawn to measure your blood sugar level. |
| (24-28 weeks) | At this visit you'll discuss the last trimester of pregnancy and labor and delivery (and the important who to call and when). |
| OB checks-Every other week 32-36 weeks | Your weight, blood pressure and "dips (urine samples to check protein and glucose levels). |
| OB check-Every week until delivery | Your weight, blood pressure and "dips" (urine samples to check protein and glucose levels) are done at each visit. The doctor will check your cervix and the position of the baby. You may be put on a monitor to record the baby's heartbeat pattern. |
| 6 weeks post-partum | A physical exam will be performed and you and your doctor will talk about any physical or emotional concerns you may have and also how your new little one is doing. |
