Annual Exams - Adolescent

When should a young woman begin annual pelvic exams? According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) women should have their first pap test and pelvic exam at age 21.

The providers at Women's Care understand that anticipating your first gynecological exam can cause anxiety and fear. We want you to feel comfortable and at ease. We will explain every part of the exam in detail and encourage you to ask questions. It is a time to get to know you, to talk about your health and your lifestyle. We hope you will leave our office feeling a part of our clinic family. We look forward to a long, healthful relationship with you!
